A GRANDSTAND FOR THE BEST MUSICAL TRADITION
A great magazine for an ever-growing niche.
La Revista Musical Catalana was founded by the Associació Orfeó Català in 1904. The magazine’s publication was interrupted in 1936 by the Spanish Civil War. After a 45-year hiatus, publication resumed in 1984.
But it didn’t modernise until 2011. That year we overhauled its image, with a contemporary design and a dual format (paper and digital) aiming to open it up to new audiences.
Catalonia is one of the great epicentres of classical music and we have turned the Revista Musical Catalana into its best showcase.
LEADING LIGHTS
From a first-person perspective.
A magazine with an expansive vision of classical music, featuring the leading music journalists and the best scholars. A delight for music lovers and budding amateurs alike.
The best conductors, the best performers, the best pieces. Everything that is transcendent in the field of classical and chamber music lies at the heart of the magazine.
Brilliant visuals and top-notch writing
The magazine’s success is based on two main pillars: quality content and contemporary design. With groundbreaking, highly contemporary visual production and editing, we make the classic modern.
We publish an avant-garde magazine, with several reading levels that allow readers to decide how far they want to go.
This new look has won the APPEC award for best editorial design.
DIGITAL VERSION
Expanding the niche of classical music.
In addition to the paper and digital versions, and a strong social media presence, the magazine also features a version with a Spotify playlist to listen to the recommended pieces.
This project has become a national and international cultural point of reference.
At present, 2,000 copies are published with a subscription rate of 54.05%.
