Investigative documentary that narrates the Spanish Government’s manoeuvres against the effort to obtain official recognition for Catalan sports teams. Through testimonies, events and documents, the purpose of the documentary is to show the political obstacles that Catalan sport has experienced in the face of the political apparatus of the Spanish State and how attempts have been made to avoid a possible sports rivalry between Catalonia and Spain. The case of the Catalan Skating Federation, provisionally admitted to skating’s International Federation in March 2004, and expelled a year and a half later due to Spanish political pressure, is the central focus of the documentary, although we also cover other sports such as football, rugby, bowling and indoor football, each with a different history and with very different results in the fight to obtain official recognition.
