FANG! / MUD!

The competition on SX3 in which we learn Catalan by getting into the mud.

2024

The competition on SX3 that encourage children and young kids to use Catalan in the most entertaining way possible.

For 3Cat

WHOEVER KNOWS CATALAN THE BEST WINS

24 schools in Catalonia get into the mud to embrace Catalan.

What would happen if we mixed Takeshi’s Castle, El gran dictat and Grand Prix? The answer is FANG! (MUD!), the new school competition on SX3 where 6th grade students put their knowledge of Catalan to the test, as well as their agility, speed and ability to work as a team.

The twelve episodes of the season are available on the 3Cat platform, and every Friday at 9 p. m. you can watch an episode on SX3.

LEARNING CATALAN HAS NEVER BEEN SO MUCH FUN

The show, designed and produced by Abacus, combines linguistic and physical tests

In each episode of FANG! (MUD!) two different schools from across Catalonia face off against each other: one plays as the purple team and the other as the yellow team.

Each school chooses three students as representatives, who must overcome four lightning round challenges to earn as many points as possible and be declared winners.

At stake is a day trip to an amusement park in Catalonia together with the whole class!

TWO AWESOME PRESENTERS

The show is hosted by Shalana and Marc Andreu Rosich.

Manresa’s own Shalana Rodríguez (Xinjiang, China, 2000) holds a degree in Primary Education from the Universitat Autònoma Barcelona and her TikTok account is one of the most popular in Catalonia. Every week she collaborates on Ràndom (SX3), and has also presented Déu n’hi do (RTVE), a show that teaches Catalan through education and humour.

Marc Andreu Rosich (Tàrrega, 1992) holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication from Universitat Rovira i Virgili. He has worked as a reporter, editor and scriptwriter on 3Cat programs such as Joc de cartes, A2Veus and 40 pals, as well as in La recepta perduda (RTVE), Habitació 910 (betevé), Batalla de restaurantes (LaSexta), Bentrobats and País KM0 (both on La Xarxa).

THE THEME SONG THAT’S A SMASH HIT

Oriol de Ramon and Xavier Coca wrote the song’s melody, chords and lyrics from scratch. Their goal was crystal clear: to transmit the energetic, enthusiastic and playful spirit of our show.

The tune has elements that remind us of others hits by The Tyets, such as Bailoteo and Coco. This song’s just as addictive, encouraging us to get up on our feet and dance non-stop! The song has had an incredibly positive reception from the contestants, the audience and the show’s crew, because we couldn’t get it out of our heads while filming the whole season. You’re missing out if you haven’t heard it yet!

REFERENT CULTURAL
