THE WILDEST DATING SHOW
For two seasons, Cita Bestial (Doggy date) has showcased true love stories between dogs and humans.
The programme, presented by Candela Figueras, uses TV dating show formats to highlight the process of adopting a dog. During each date, four dogs chosen by the shelter are presented: we discover who they are, what they’re like, what their past was like and what kind of family fits them best. Although only one dog will be the final choice, viewers will have the opportunity to get to know several canines. We hope that those of you at home watching the show will be encouraged to become new adopters!
The second season also aims to show the day-to-day life of animal shelters in detail. The aim is to highlight and value to the incredible work they do.
MUCH MORE THAN A TINDER DATE
The programme reflects on everything that adopting an animal entails.
Cita bestial (Doggy date) also presents the follow-up in a docureality format of what happens right after the adoption. We stay by their side when they get home and we document the process of adaptation, their day-to-day life, their first tricks, visits to the vet, sessions with animal behaviour experts and dog trainers, how they get along with other animals… Some situations will be very complex: from the loss of a recently adopted dog to a risky veterinary operation, including the prejudices surrounding potentially dangerous dogs.
The programme has canine experts who assess each case, help to understand the animal’s behaviour and offer advice on how to ensure that everyone can live and thrive together.
#AdoptaNoCompris
A SOCIALLY CONSCIOUS TEAM
All the professionals who have made the programme possible are in favour of adopting and not buying animals.
In the second season, Candela Figueras not only plays the role of presenter, but also co-directs the show with Anna Pérez Martí; both are strong animal adoption activists. In fact, the team is mostly made up of dog adopters. The programme is directed by Adrià Guardiola, with a writing staff made up of Àlex Cubero, Gerard López and Cèlia Muns, and Emma Martínez as production manager.
